Residential Conveyancer – Residential Property

We are seeking to recruit a Residential Conveyancer to support the residential property team in delivering a full range of legal services, including sales and purchases, remortgages and transfers of ownership.

The Role:

The role will require the undertaking of fee earning work, working both independently and as a member of the team, maintaining existing relations with the firm’s clients and assist and help develop new relationships with third party referrers.

What are we looking for?

  • At least 2 years’ experience in residential property is essential.
  • Willing to participate in the growth and future development of the department, building up the client base and marketing the firm’s services.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Excellent client facing skills and the ability to nurture existing clients and third-party relationships as well as the ability to help develop new business and assist in networking events.
  • The ability to prioritise work and to work to strict timescales where required.
  • Technical proficiency and good IT skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to contribute to the client base and help market the company’s wider services.
  • Ability to contribute towards strategic plans for the department aligned with the business plans for the company.

Secretary – Legal Support

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Legal Secretary to provide secretarial services to the Commercial Property and Corporate and Commercial teams and to the Corporate Legal group, both working remotely and within our Bristol office.

Working with the Legal Support team, you will need a high degree of self-management and initiative whilst undertaking a range of secretarial duties.

The Role:

The role will provide the highest level of direct secretarial support to enable fee earners to carry out their role to the highest level, including support with document scanning, producing correspondence and documents, monthly and ad-hoc billing through to audio-typing, file closure and preparation for storage of files and diary management.

The role will also involve attending to our clients with the highest standard of client care and supporting other secretaries within the firm.

What are we looking for?

  • Commercial Property and Corporate and Commercial legal experience.
  • A proactive willingness to undertake a role offering secretarial and administrative skills in a professional office.
  • Strong interpersonal and client facing skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Clear thinking and able to carry out tasks accurately with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated to complete tasks accurately and quickly, with an ability to prioritise, think laterally and have an eye for detail.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Previous use of case management systems and electronic file management.

Associate Solicitor – Corporate and Commercial 

GL Law provides a high quality, personal legal service using modern technology and communications media. Our Corporate business services focus is on looking after the needs of SME and owner managed businesses and their owners.

We are seeking to recruit an Associate Solicitor to join our Corporate and Commercial team, both working remotely and within our Bristol office.

The successful candidate will join a busy team with an established and growing reputation, a challenging workload from a varied client base and a supportive team spirit.

The Role:

The role will require an individual to undertake fee earning work in the Corporate and Commercial department as well as supporting the Digital Marketing and Technology, Food Drink and Hospitality and/or Manufacturing and Supply Chain sectors.

The incumbent will need to get involved in the development and work of the department by maintaining excellent relationships with our current clients as well as contributing to business development.

 What are we looking for?

  • Qualified Solicitors (4/8 years PQE)
  • Thorough experience in Corporate and Commercial law.
  • Knowledge of company and contract law with a track record of assisting M&A deals.
  • An excellent knowledge of contracts, research and drafting skills and a good working knowledge of relevant regulations.
  • A confident approach and capability to deal with difficult situations, remaining robust under pressure.
  • A commitment to being involved in marketing and business development activities.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines whilst always ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated and clear thinking, able to carry out case work accurately and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral at all levels with clients, staff and others.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Ability to work with minimal administrative assistance.

Senior Family Solicitor/ Assistant Head of Department

If you are a senior Family law solicitor ready for a new challenge, we would like to hear from you. We are looking for someone to step into the role of Assistant Head of our Family law team alongside fee earning work.

This position will suit an ambitious and proactive individual who is comfortable establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with our clients, as well as contributing to business development and growing the Family law portfolio.

Experience of managing a team and supervising junior members of staff is a must-have.
