Gregg Latchams advises shareholders on acquisition of Finnamore by GE Healthcare
Bristol law firm Gregg Latchams LLP has advised the shareholders of Finnamore Limited, the largest specialist health and social care consultancy in the UK, on its acquisition by GE Healthcare.
The acquisition of Finnamore Limited, which was founded in 1991 and merged with The Health Works and The Change Works in 2009 to form the largest independent health and social consultancy in the UK, will see GE Healthcare’s UK consultancy arm, Performance Solutions UK, become GE Healthcare Finnamore. The new firm will be led by John Deverill, former Managing Director of Finnamore Limited, and will expand its employee base to 70, many of whom are former clinicians, engineers and management consultants.
The Corporate Commercial team, led by John Dalby and assisted by Ed Boal (Corporate), Simon Kenneally and Alex Rossiter (Commercial Property) and Harriet Broughton (Employment), advised the individual shareholders of Finnamore Limited.
Director John Dalby says:
“Having had a long-term connection with Finnamore, I was delighted that Gregg Latchams was instructed to act for the shareholders on this occasion. The deal is a great achievement for all concerned. The transaction was completed within a tight timescale and required a number of complex structural issues to be addressed, demonstrating our commitment and technical ability.”
Bruce Finnamore, who founded Finnamore Management Consultants before it became Finnamore Limited in 2009, says:
“John and the Gregg Latchams team were outstanding. They combined the need to focus and deliver on the detail of the deal with the pursuit and achievement of the bigger picture. Their advice was clear, robust and pragmatic. They kept their promises and hit the deadlines even if this meant working through the night. They did all this with humility, good humour and within budget. The whole Finnamore Board were very impressed.”
