New digital platform to help businesses launch overseas
The government have announced a brand new service that will help UK businesses break into global markets.
The International Trade Secretary, Dr Liam Fox, advised that the platform will:
- Offer opportunity for UK businesses to secure private deals overseas
- Provide a business directory that matches the demand of UK goods and services
The launch of GREAT.gov.uk is to facilitate the current appetite for UK goods and services by opening it up to millions of pounds worth of business. The hub will work as a large community for trade and investment, bringing together and connecting UK businesses, international buyers and international investors.
The platform will act as a hub for businesses to make contacts, whilst offering practical advice and support. Whether businesses are new or accomplished, there will be a suite of tools available and exclusive deals with some of the world’s leading online marketplaces.
UK businesses will be part of the searchable directory of UK exporters once they register, and the government will then use this to match the products and services to the demands worldwide.
Dr Liam Fox shared some great optimism: “GREAT.gov.uk will show an international audience that we’re home to the most dynamic and innovative companies in the world and that Britain is open for business as never before.”
