What does the Long Term and Elderly Care team do?

26 September 2019 | Heledd Wyn

Restoring dignity, independence, and empowerment!

Our Long Term and Elderly Care department aims to improve quality of life, restoring dignity, independence and empowerment by taking a multi-disciplinary approach to solving complex care problems.

We offer services that cover attorneys and deputies, asset disputes, Court of Protection, property ownership, guardianship for missing persons right through to safeguarding adults and children at risk. Our team of highly trained lawyers  have detailed knowledge of the health and social care systems which enables them to guide their clients through the available options.

The team assists in planning for the future, navigating through financial decisions alongside health and social care issues for those who require long-term care. The Gregg Latchams family is understanding in their approach and extremely knowledgeable about how to manage, advise and resolve concerns that have a real impact on those involved.

Ian Evans, Fiveways financial planning and South West regional co-ordinator for The Society of Later Life Advisers, has worked with Heledd and the Long Term and Elderly Care team for some years and said: “It is refreshing to be able to work with a solicitor who is very pragmatic and down to earth.”

If you or a relative are experiencing issues around health and social care, a preliminary consultation with one of our lawyers might be the solution. During this meeting we will:

  • Ask you to explain your situation and concerns
  • Understand your issues and what you want to achieve
  • Offer you our advice and go through your options
  • Consider costs and the implications of the decisions you will need to make
  • Discuss the next steps
