Catherine is an Associate Solicitor in the Private Client team and is based in the Bristol office. She qualified as a Solicitor in January 2015 but has been working in this field since 2007.
Catherine has specialist knowledge and expertise in estate administration and probate matters for high net worth individuals. She deals with the full administration of complex estates including national heritage assets, substantial lifetime gifting and claims for agricultural and business property relief. Catherine also advises on and drafts Deeds of Variation and Declarations of Trust.
Catherine is an affiliate member of STEP, a global professional body, comprising lawyers, accountants, financial advisors and other practitioners that help families plan for their futures.
Known for her caring approach, Catherine aims to deliver a personalised service at what is often a very difficult time in people’s lives.
Examples of work Catherine specialises in:
- Acting on an estate involving the incorporation of a family business, working with the Gregg Latchams Commercial & Corporate team to offer the client a fully integrated service.
- Acting on an estate with over 30 beneficiaries many of whom were missing and had to be located.
- Acting on an estate with a failed gift to charity. Liaising with counsel to apply to the Charity Commission for a scheme.
- Liaising and negotiating with HMRC to obtain repayments (recently on the death of life tenant of a trust established in 1974).
